Our artists in residence program is a collaboration between an artist and Maija and Cody,
the stewards of the Buckeye Ranch.
Maija and Cody provide the artist with time and lodging
to support the artist's work.
In exchange, the artist contributes something to the Buckeye Ranch, and is responsible for their own food and provisions.
Our residency can last from a few days to up to four weeks.
Please visit the contact us page to send us a message if you are interested.
Maija and Cody welcome artists from all over the world
who are deeply committed to land-based art in any medium to come stay at the Buckeye Ranch
in the San Lucia Highlands of the Salinas Valley, California.
The artists in residence program provides the artist with a queen guestroom to stay in
with access to an outhouse (with flushing toilet), communal indoor kitchen, and outdoor shower. The rooms are 12’ x 12’ and furnished with a heater, and a fan. No AC.
Buckeye Ranch experiences rain from mid-November to mid-March, so it is recommended that the artist schedule their visit outside this timeframe.
The offering will start the summer of 2025.
